Roller Disco is back! Join us at Buttonwood Park on 8/9 and get your skate on! (rain date: 8/16)
Come out and skate with your friends to the sounds of @claudiadeebee alongside New Moon’s resident DJs.
🛼 Saturday 8/9, 3-7pm, Buttonwood Park basketball courts, New Bedford, MA.
🛼 BYO quad or inline skates. Skate at your own risk.
🛼 There will be plenty of space to hang and dance, even if you don’t skate!
🛼 ALL participants will be required to sign a liability waiver in order to skate. Please visit the check-in tent upon arrival to sign your waiver. Those under 18 years of age will need to be accompanied by a parent/guardian who can sign on their behalf.
🛼 @southcoast_shipwreckers and Chakira Gonsalves (@pulchritude101chakira) will be onsite with their skate library stocked with loaner skates for people to use free of charge. Limited stock, first come, first served!
🛼 Free kids skate lesson to kick off the event, starting promptly at 3pm; adult lesson at 3:30pm offered by @amycappa. Show up 15 mins early if you’d like to take the lesson.
🛼 Only roller skates and inline skates; no bikes, skate boards etc.

Many of you know Jacob from previous BBB guest spots, or from his work with @symposiumrecords in Providence, where he helps to throw truly excellent underground events in the city. Jacob is one of the best around. We can’t wait for this one! ❤️🌑
The one and only Corey Jones! Corey has been in the New Bedford music scene for years, with output that spans genres from dance music to hardcore and beyond.
We were lucky to feature Corey on our Local DJ Showcase lineup in 2024. Before his set was even over we had made the decision to bring him back as a featured guest.
Long overdue, but better late than never, we are excited to host Corey at BodyBodyBody on 5/3 for an extended all-vinyl set

Next up, we welcome Boston-based DJ Joe Wilkes (@joewilkesbooth) for his BBB debut! We are very excited to bring his unique take on raw, polyrhythmic club sounds to our dance floor.
I don’t know about everyone else, but I felt a little extra… urgency? electricity? at our last party that I can’t help but attribute to the current state of the world. Maybe connecting politics and the club feels like a stretch. A party is fundamentally an escape after all.
Yes, the dance floor is a site of release, but it is also a sanctuary. We used to use the term “temporary autonomous zone” when we talked about raves, but what we really mean is a place to model a better world, even if it’s fleeting and on the tiniest of scales.
Intentionally meeting in person and taking care of each other is the project right now. Hope to see you on 3/1! ❤️ 🌑
